Can't access Comcast email since password… (2024)

I was prompted to change my Xfinity password. I did so and have no problem getting my email on my MacBook after changing the password in mail app. I attempted to stage the password on my iPad (new iPad pro0 and my iPhone 14. I am unable to access my email on either. I deleted the account, restarted the devices and attempted to read the Comcast account, entering the new password. I get an error message stating that there is no password entered and I need to go to the mail app and enter the password. Of course the account isn't added so that is a non starter. I spent over an hour with apple insisting it is an Xfinity(Comcast) problem. That seems curious given that I have no problem accessing my email on the web. The email security setting on Xfinity is set to allow third party apps like apple mail access. Comcast has been my main email address for 25 years, so changing is a hassle I'd like to avoid. After over an hour with an Xfinity rep all I was able to do was answer him multiple times that I could access my email on the web. I'd appreciate help with this

  • Xfinity emailMy mail was working fine on my iPhone until xfinity told me I needed to change my password. I did that and now I cannot access all three Comcast email accounts even though I only changed the password on one. I can access my email through the xfinity webpage not not on my mail apps. • Incompatibility between Xfinity email and connecting to my iPhone Pro 14For weeks I've been having issues with Xfinity. One of my remaining issues is adding my Xfinity email to my iPhone 14 Pro. Every time I try I get messages that my username or password are incorrect. They are correct and I still can't connect...I've verified multiple times I've gone so far as changing my 5GHz to 2.4GHz and still cannot get it to connect. A few weeks ago, I got it, however, was still a day behind in getting my email. Stupid me listened to the Xfinity rep who told me to delete it and re-add it. After hesitating and sharing my concern about getting it back, I should have listened to myself because of course now I can't seem to get it back. I've even tried adding it via Outlook and Microsoft Exchange to no avail.Does anyone know how to fix this issue? I am beyond frustrated after multiple phone calls to Xfinity (approximately 20 since 04/12) and one to Apple in which I was cut off while they were trying to assist me.Thank you in advance for your time. My fingers are crossed that someone will know how to get this to work. 1647
  • IPhone SE 3 not connecting with Comcast emailMy iPhone SE 3 using Comcast server with Comcast email address is not able to send or receive emails( except for the occasional gmail which I rarely use). The inbox is stating ‘No Sender’ and the Sent box is saying No Recipient. I don’t know how to get the correct passwords in place. I have changed Comcast Xfinity Password, but the server is not working. I have no idea at this point what passwords need to be on the incoming and outgoing server 1401

Again thanks for previous response. It turns out by changing the Xfinity password a second time I was able to add the account to the mail app on iPhone and iPad. I got that suggestion on Xfinity forum.

Glad you got things up and running. I think most people have a love/hate relationship with Xfinity. They offer great internet speeds and decent TV/Phone service, but you do pay a price. Their Customer Service is terrible and the Xfinity Assistant is useless. If you are able to talk to someone, the solution is usually to blame another party and not take any responsibility. We all had to change passwords to Xfinity due to a recent hack and apparently their back end servers are having a tough time keeping up.
