Victoria Factory was established in 1963, founded by Leopoldo Casso Perez. Leopoldo was a businessman who owned 2 different molinos. he started by selling only tortillas and slowly introduced tamales and barbacoa to the menu. In the early 1970s, Leopoldo retired and sold Victoria Factory to his daughter Teresa Herrera. Teresa continued to expand Victoria Factory and it grew exponentially. Victoria Factory became known for our delicious tamales, barbacoa, and tortillas. In 2009, Teresa Herrera retired and sold Victoria Factory to the Bañuelos family, who are now the current owners. Although there was a change in management, the quality of our products continues to meet the highest expectations. Over the years, we have been remodeling and expanding to what we have today, and we continue to update our system to give you the best quality of service and experience. Many have made Victoria Factory part of their family traditions and we are proud to take such a special place in their home.

They married right before Ruben left to serve our nation in WWII. While Ruben was overseas, Elvira honed her entrepreneurial skills back at home in Dallas. Her parents Toribio and Elena Portugal owned a popular restaurant & bar in Little Mexico called “La Rumba” and they shared their experience working in the food business with their daughter. Elena was a renowned chef, known for recipes, and she also worked as a beloved cook at El Fenix.
