I ordered fried fish with shrimp, I really liked how it was cooked, not too dry or soggy, excellent sauces; they have ice cream, soft and regular; wooden tables with benches in a summer cafe are quite cool; I have poor English, the manager was very polite and patiently trying to understand what I wanted)) - thank you very much! This is a fairly new establishment in Wellsville. Believe it or not, it used to be a automobile repair shop, but you'd never know it. This is called the Wellsville General Store and Grill. When you first walk in, you come into the "general store". There's a selection of shirts, hats, fishing gear and some other novelty items. You do all of your ordering from the counter in the store from a menu board. The main dining room is off to the right from there where you pick your own seat and your meal is brought to you. I ordered the "Boom Beef & Cheddar" with fries. My wife got the Friday night fish fry with a side of hush puppies, cole slaw and Mac and cheese. My sandwich was excellent, and had a bit of heat to it as if there were jalapeños in the cheese. I like spicy so this was good for me, but if you don't like spicy than consider this a warning. The fries were perfect. My wife gave me a hush puppy and it was probably the best I'd ever had. Her fish fry was cooked to perfection. No liquor license there, so drinks are bottles of pop or water from the cooler which was just fine for us. For both meals, we spent $35 which is more than reasonable for the quality and quantity of food we got. This was our first time here, but it definitely won't be the last. It's my understanding that the owners are from the south, and the southern roots show in their menu. I am originally from Florida and any southerner would be more than happy with what we had. Well done. I hope this place remains in Wellsville for many years.
